You are here

I have decided to do a "you are here" post every day (or whenever I feel like it) featuring a different city around the world. What's so great about it and what's not so great about it. I don't know about you but I have always wanted to travel around and see different places. so, if you are like me and you have never been satisfied staying in one place for too long or are just interested in other places besides the place you're in, then this post is for you!

You are here: Dubai

Apparently Dubai is the fastest growing city in the world and foreigners make up 80 percent of its population. Hmmmm wonder why that is? Well, it could possibly have to do with the being able to shop and ski at the same time. Yup, you read it right. in Dubai Emirates mall you can ski indoors while shopping! Dubai actually has the world's best malls and is apparently trying to get the title for the tallest and biggest everything. They now have the tallest man made structure, tallest hotel, biggest mall, and the world's largest aquarium. So, besides the 100 percent humidity and sweltering heat, Dubai has been declared one of the best places to visit.

What kind of blog is this?

When I first started this blog my main topic was going to be about parenting and the humor that goes along with it, but I kind of changed my mind. I realized that I didn't want to stick with just ONE topic; I wanted to cover a whole BUNCH of topics. Obviously, I am still going to talk about parenting because that is one of the most important things in my life but, it's not the only thing in my life. I do have other interests you know?

What might those other interests be you ask? Well, for one, I am planning on going back to school soon because I realized that it is almost impossible to pay all of the bills and still be able to get my hair done, and man do I need it DONE. I also like giving people valuable information; like great deals on fabulous stuff. And sometimes (well, maybe all the time) I like to voice my opinion on certain subjects; which could range anywhere from celeb gossip to politics (probably not though cuz I hate politics and couldn't care less about it). But, in all honesty, I just want to write about what my readers want to hear. So, if you are reading this, and not too many people are but if you are and you would like to voice YOUR opinion about what you would like to hear then feel free. Note: I may discard your idea if it is stupid.

Jesus and the Easter bunny

So, even though my daughter is only 3 months old I wanted to do something special for her for Easter, this being her first Easter and all. My husband isn't really into the whole Easter thing but I feel like it is a right of passage when you are a little kid. I wanted to see her face light up when she saw the Easter bunny for the first time but then I remembered that she's only 3 months old and won't know what the hell is going on anyway, soo maybe next year. But, to be completely honest, i'm not really sure what the hell is going on with easter either. Seriously though, what's the deal with the bunny? And the painted eggs? Bunnies don't even lay eggs. Who came up with this idea anyway?

I mean obviously if you're a Christian you would be celebrating Jesus's resurrection,  but where does the famous easter egg hunt come into play? I tried looking up the meaning on Wikipedia but there were a bunch of big words like antiquity and vernal equinox and something to do with bunny fertility. So, what exactly am I supposed to tell my daughter when she asks how Jesus knew the easter bunny? Maybe if I give her enough peeps she won't ask.
